Guided tour of cider culture in Usurbil
The 650 Usurbil Bizi initiative has organised two walking routes for 23 February and 23 March.
Usurbil has a great history of cider: shipbuilding, apple orchards, etc. This history is still visible and perceptible in the landscape. On the one hand, because it has 6 cider houses. 6 different cider houses, with different stories and character. On the other hand, in many farmhouses they produce their own cider. In these spaces, the past and the present are combined, adding other visions and values. On this guided tour we will talk about the history of cider and its context (apple orchards, apples, tools, animals, ...). While we walk through the apple orchards we will learn about the cider culture of Usurbil. We will have a very special stop, in addition, we will see the cider press of the Egiluze farmhouse. At the end of the visit we will taste cider. It will be a tour of approximately three hours through the mountains, we will cover a total of 5 kilometers, so it is necessary to bring appropriate footwear. You cannot come with dogs because there are cattle on the route.
