Gaztañaga cider house wins the IV Basque Country Popular Cider Championship

The IV Popular Cider Championship of the Basque Country was held today in Usurbil. The second place was for the ciderhouse Aburuza of Aduna and the third for the ciderhouse Irigoien-Herrero of Astigarraga. 41 cider houses from Basque Country have participated in this fourth edition and 228 diners have done the work of popular jury accompanied by the good atmosphere and the taste for cider. To finalize the event, the popular jury has been awarded, giving away a batch of the winning cider to each member of the table that has come closest to the score.

Organized by Sagardoa Route, Cider Association of Gipuzkoa, the grand final of the IV Popular Cider Contest of the Basque Country was held today. There have been 41 cider houses that have participated in this fourth edition. Before the Grand Final held today in Usurbil, cider has been tasted in four other municipalities where the semifinals have passed: Beasain, Goizueta, Oñati and Urnieta. The first two winning ciders each semifinal have gone directly to the final, and the remaining four according to the total score obtained.
