New gastronomic offer at the Altzueta cider house

The Altzueta cider house has its origins in the Altzueta farmhouse. It is believed that the farm could have been a cider house since at least the 16th century. The family used to make their ciders there until the construction of the new building in 1910, which was renovated in 2004 by Aitziber Goikoetxea and Ibon Alkorta, expanding the winery and the production area and acquiring stainless steel tanks. In continuous remodeling, by Aitziber and Ibon!

Did you know that in summer you can also come to the cider house to enjoy our cuisine and Euskal Sagardoa cider? In Altzueta, in summer, we prepare a magnificent terrace next to the apple orchard to enjoy the good weather while tasting the products from our house.

The cider house and our terrace await you from June 22 to August 10 at the following hours:

Wednesday and Thursday: 8:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. 

Friday and Saturday: 1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. / 8:30 p.m.  – 12:00 a.m.



Special gastronomic offer

In addition, coming to the cider house during the summer also has its gastronomic advantages! The Altzueta cider house has a wide menu of seasonal products.

These are just some of the dishes you can taste: cod salad, cod omelette, homemade gindilas, cod in sauce, fried cod, begi-haundi squid, octopus, homemade tuna, T-bone steak, cheese with sweet apple, frozen cake, sorbet , ice cream and homemade torrija, for example.

Euskal Sagardoa cider in bottle

In addition to enjoying this wonderful gastronomy, on our terrace you can taste the year's Euskal Sagardoa cider in bottles. At the Altzueta Cider House, from January to April you can go and taste cider directly from the kupela to the txotx, and from June to August you can taste that Euskal Sagardoa cider that you have been tasting throughout the year and that little by little has been transformed, the fruit of the entire year's work, in the bottle.

At Altzueta you will have Euskal Sagardoa and Euskal Sagardoa Premium bottles at your disposal throughout the summer. Local, high-quality ciders!



Guided tours

Before sitting down to enjoy the local cuisine, we offer you the possibility of booking a guided tour of our apple orchard and cellar. We will begin the visit outside the old farmhouse, learning about the history of the Goikoetxea family. Afterwards we will tour the apple orchard and the production area to learn all the details of the production of Euskal Sagardoa. During the visit we will have the opportunity to taste the Euskal Sagardoa in a bottle and we will finish the visit in the txotx, tasting the cider directly from the kupela.
