Cider house Axpe

We are the Axpe family and we have more than four centuries of experience as producers of cider and txakoli. In 1996 we set up the brewery and winery, where we make and bottle Basque natural cider with the Eusko Label and txakoli with the Bizkaiko Txakolina designation of origin.

Just below the brewery is the Mari Sorgina spring, and just next to it the Axpeko Koba or Axpe cave. Mari Sorgina was worshipped as a goddess and the local farmers must have given offerings of cider, as it was a sacred drink associated with her.
