Come visit Altzueta Cider Cellar and immerse yourself in the fascinating history of our family and Euskal Sagardoa cider! We offer you the opportunity to book a guided tour of our apple orchard and winery before sitting down to enjoy the delicious local cuisine. We will begin the visit outside the old farmhouse learning about the history of the Goikoetxea family, then we will take a walk through the apple orchard and the production area, discovering all the details of the production of Euskal Sagardoa cider. During the visit, we will do a tasting of Euskal Sagardoa cider in bottles and we will end the visit in the purest Basque style, tasting the cider directly from the barrels.

We will meet at Altzueta cider house in Hernani for a guided tour visiting the corners of the house and talk about the cider production and elaboration process. The details of each cider will be mentioned and the history of the family and the farm will be discussed. Finally, there will also be the opportunity to taste a traditional cider menu.

Although the date of its foundation is unknown, there are documents that prove that Altzueta cider house was engaged in the sale of cider as early as 1878, and continues today with its fourth generation.

The old building is in front of the current one, built around 1910 and renovated in 1982 by Agustina Goikoetxea and Juan Goikoetxea, and restored for the second time by Aitziber Goikoetxea and Ibon Alkorta, in 2004. A major reform was carried out in which the size of the warehouse dedicated to the production of cider was increased. New modern machinery and more stainless steel tanks were introduced.
