EXPERIENCE

Gurutzeta Cider House, located in the Ergobia neighbourhood of Astigarraga, is a family business whose cider-making tradition dates back to the late 19th century. Founded around 1900 by the Urreaga family, it has been passed down through generations, evolving and modernizing while preserving its unique character. Today, the cider house is managed by the Etxeberria family, led by Igor Huegun, who continues this historic legacy. During this guided tasting and traditional menu experience, we will meet the family and discover the story behind each product. We will taste their signature products: apple juice, Euskal Sagardoa PDO cider, cider poured from the barrel, and vermouth, learning about their characteristics, aromas, and nuances. And to put the icing on the cake, you will enjoy the traditional cider house menu: cod omelette, fried cod with peppers, T-bone steak, cheese, walnuts and quince paste. An authentic immersion into Basque cider culture.

TOUR

We will meet at Gurutzeta cider house in Astigarraga for a guided tour visiting the corners of the house and talking about the cider production and elaboration process. The details of each cider will be mentioned and the history of the family and the farm will be discussed. Finally, there will also be the opportunity to taste a traditional cider house menu.
