BASQUE CIDER AND RIOJA WINE TOUR

EXPERIENCE

Bodegas Valdemar is a family passion, run by Jesús and Ana Martínez, the fourth generation of the Martínez Bujanda family. Generation after generation, they have passed on their love for the land, their passion for fine wines, and their pioneering spirit. Today, they are internationally recognized for constantly learning and innovating to take the art of winemaking beyond borders. We will explore various areas of the winery to learn how their wines are made and enjoy a tasting. After the visit, we will head to a cider house, meet the family behind it, tour the apple orchard and cider-making facilities, and taste cider directly from the barrels. To complete the experience, we’ll enjoy the traditional cider house menu: homemade appetizer, cod omelet, fried cod, grilled steak, and Idiazabal cheese with walnuts and quince jelly.

TOUR

Our guide will meet you at your hotel reception and accompany you to Bodegas Valdemar in Rioja Alavesa. During the guided tour, you’ll learn about the family history and winemaking process. Afterward, we’ll visit a cider house, explore the farmhouse and cider production areas, and end the tour with a traditional cider house meal.
